About
Aloha! My name is Anthea Lewis and I am a freelance photographer based in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Two of my greatest passions in life are travel and photography which together, strengthen my experience. Most recently, I traveled throughout Oceania, Southeast Asia and Europe and I continue frequent visits to the East Coast. Additionally, I have broadened my photography to include portraits, weddings and photo journalism.

Born in Sydney, Australia, I moved with my family to Bogota, Columbia before returning to the East Coast, United States. As a result, I quickly found comfort in diversity and visual connectivity at an early age.
As a young adult, I adopted New York City as my home where I began to cultivate my passion for photography. Armed with my Pentax, K1000 (which I still own), street life with hints of architecture became my subjects of choice.

After moving to Hawai’i in 2004, a new set of senses were quickly awakened. I was naturally drawn to the islands wildlife, landscapes, seascapes, surf talents and forces of nature from which my affinity for wide angle and long lenses was born.

I view my work and where it stands today as a small representation of what is to come. I hope to further cultivate my style to infuse elements of the moment with the adventures and wonders of life. Nothing is more gratifying to me than conveying the feeling of a time and place; whether its through landscape, portraiture, cultural expression or journalistic events.
